Product care

Every item we produce is carefully crafted by hand with care and passion. Each development and small batch is strenuously tested to ensure we are delivering the best possible performance and safety.

Providing you with a good experience is everything to us so please follow the below guidelines carefully;

1. Always follow the safety and warning labels on each product. Not all candles and fragrance diffusers are the same.

2. Trim your wicks! With soy wax candles this is essential to ensure you get the cleanest burn and best performance. This can be done cleanly with the wick trimmers we sell online and at our retail outlets in the candle care section.

If its one of our woodwick candles ensure the charred wood is removed right across and relight the entire wick edge too.

3. The first burn should always be for 3 hours to allow the wax to melt entirely across the surface. People think we're crazy when we say this but 'candles have memories'! So if you don't do this first time, you may get residue wax in subsequent burns.

4. Don't over burn it! We recommend a maximum 4 hours per burn. And extinguish safely using our Candle snuffer.

5. Keep candles in a cool, dry place. Away from sunlight or sources of heat.

6. Kids and pets love our candles and diffusers, and we love them. But be sure to keep them away and out of reach.

7. Keep away from drafts and free from debris, excess oil and dust. If you're unsure just wipe it with a clean tissue before lighting.

8. Diffusers - flip the reeds periodically! Careful not to spill the oil and always wash your hands after doing so.

9. If for any reason you are not happy with the product, please come and speak to us. Feedback is welcome, good or bad!

10. Take care of yourself. Our products are a sanctuary of self care, saviour the special moments they bring and share and we hope they bring much enjoyment.

Woodwick Candle care

  • Follow safety instructions on the base of the candle
  • A lighter is more ideal for lighting rather than a match
  • Light the wicks whilst holding the candle at an angle, contact with the wick for 8-10 seconds. This is helpful if you are having issues with the wick catching fire
  • On the first burn, burn for at least 3 hours, 4 hours maximum
  • The wicks are a natural material so can be very volatile, handle with care.
  • A small flame on woodwicks is very normal as they generate more heat. It will continue to burn and the flame height should return.
  • Ensure the candle is at room temperature before burning (20 degrees)
  • Ensure the surface it is placed on is even and away from any drafts
  • Remove the charred wood off the top of the wick before relighting
